introduction to open / COLD water swimming

THEORY | GROUP SWIM | SAUNA | COFFEE & CAKE

This 2 hour session is suitable for beginners and regulars wanting to know more about the specific benefits and physiological effects of cold water swimming.

Gem, our open water swim coach, will gently guide you through the how to prepare and stay safe in and out of the water, so that you feel confident to continue your swim journey into water of sub 15degrees.

Your introduction will include a research based introduction, breathing/acclimatisation techniques, guided swim or dip in our lake, access to the wood fired sauna and finished with our warming signature hot drink and cake. Plus, a little extra thank you from Watersedge on completion of the session.

What to bring:

Woolly hat x2/swim cap

Swim costume/trunks

Towel x2/change robe

Warm clothes/layers

Socks/gloves

Wearing a wetsuit is optional. Please contact us if you would like to try and arrange hiring wetsuit from an outside company.
